The LPC series is available in a variety of ratings with different dimensions and terminal types. Here’s a summary of the key categories:

• Capacitors from 1 to 5 kVAr:

When handling a capacitor, certain safety precautions must be observed. After a capacitor is disconnected from the voltage supply, it remains charged with the supply voltage. If the plates are shorted and touched, a dangerous accident can occur due to the violent discharge of the capacitor. According to EN 60831-1/2, three-phase capacitors must be equipped with discharge resistors capable of reducing the voltage to a maximum of 75 V within 3 minutes.

ETI’s LPC capacitors are equipped with built-in discharge resistors that reduce the voltage in less than 2 minutes, exceeding the safety requirements of the standard. For faster discharge times, extra discharge resistors can be used together with auxiliary NC contacts on the capacitor duty contactor, enabling a full discharge in less than 5 seconds. It is recommended that the reconnection time on the PFC controller should not be less than 120 seconds, except when extra discharge resistors are used.

• Parallel Interconnection: Parallel connection of two or more capacitors through the same terminals is prohibited.
• Capacitor Working Power: The working power of the capacitor depends on the working voltage.
• Individual Power Factor Correction: Capacitors can be used for individual power factor correction of low voltage motors.
